When you think about fashion and magazines, you usually associate it with perfection and youth…but that is only because it is how it has been marketed for decades. Women around the world want to change all of that. Young women aren’t the only ones who are living life and purchasing beautiful clothing, and magazines need to start reflecting it.
Yazemeenah Rossi is making it vividly clear that sexualizing young women to sell your products isn’t the only way to run a swimsuit campaign and make waves. At the age of 61, she isn’t letting anyone tell her what she can or can’t do.Dreslyn and Land of Women, the online shop and lingerie house, respectably, are the ones responsible for choosing Rossi to sell their designs.
She’s confident, she’s a visual artist, she takes care of herself. [This line is] all about being a person who’s well-lived and well-traveled and has intelligence and confidence, and letting that shine through.” The founder of Dreslyn said.
All I have ever done is eat organic food – long before it became trendy. I take oil and use it on my skin. I put grapeseed oil on my hair. I scrub my skin once a week with olive oil and fine sugar, and I eat an avocado a day and organic meat and fish.”
Looking this good at 61 takes dedication, and being the role model for millions of women is an amazing step in the right direction! Do you think more companies should branch out and use older models?
