It was a Sunday morning and Kaitlyn McNamara had stopped at a gas station in New York when she saw something that made her cry.
Sitting outside of the shop, a woman and her dog were on the pavement. The dog had a nice vest and water dish nearby, and while it looked like the woman was homeless and living on the streets, her dog was clearly well cared for.
On her way in, McNamara overheard the officers ask to pet the woman’s dog as they followed her inside. McNamara made her purchases and waited in line. That’s when she realized that the officers had grabbed some items for the dog as they stood in line behind her.
On her way out, the officers followed behind and told the woman that they had some treats for her dog.
I don’t think I will ever forget the way her face lit up when the officers handed her the bags and asked to pet her dog.” McNamara wrote.
McNamara continued to her car while the officers gave attention to the dog and spoke with the woman. She has no idea what they might have talked about, but the genuine joy on the woman’s face and the sincerity of the officers was clearly visible even from inside of her car.
She took this picture and shared it online, hoping to spread some good news and inspire others.
