Ashley Brady, a 26 year old woman from Ohio, was overjoyed when her apartment complex created a handicapped parking spot at the bottom of the steps in her parking lot. After losing her right leg in an accident, she has been learning how to walk all over again using a prosthetic. It was a struggle to not only walk across the parking lot, but also to climb three flights of stairs to her apartment. With the ice and snow, a trek across the parking lot could cause her to fall, and this new parking spot was a life saver.
Only two days after the spot was designated for handicapped parking, another car was in its place without the handicap placard visible. Instead of having the car towed, she wrote a firm note explaining the importance of keeping these spaces open, and that the next time it happened, their car would be towed. She was shocked to receive this letter under the windshield of her own car. The handwriting is hard to read, and the grammar is confusing, so an edited transcription has been added below the image:
First, never place your hands on my car again! Second, honey, you aren’t the only one with “struggles.” You want pity? Go to a one-leg support group! You messed with the wrong one! I don’t care about what your note said – shove it – but you touch my car again and I will file a report. I am not playing! I let the office know [that if] “cry baby one leg” touches my property I will cause trouble. So, go cry [about] your struggles to someone who cares because I’m walking away with both mine [legs]!!!! -B****-“
She posted the image on Facebook where it was immediately shared thousands of times. She was even interviewed by the local news station!
She told me to cry to someone who cares, so I went to the internet and it turns out a lot of people care.” She said.
We can’t be sure if the angry woman ever got the message, but we sure hope she regrets writing that note.
