While Sifting Through The Wreckage Of Dollywood, Employee Finds Singed Bible Page

Isaac McCord was cleaning up after a devastating wildfire damaged Dollywood, the popular theme park built by Dolly Parton. What he discovered was a single page from the bible, charred and burned away around the edges…but when he looked at it closer, he couldn’t believe what he had found.12-1z1

“Framed” by the fire, three verses were highlighted, and the words on the page gave McCord such a shock that he immediately shared his discovery with a co-worker.

Joel 1:15
Alas for the day! The day of the LORD is at hand, as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel 1:19
O LORD, to thee will I cry; for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.

Joel 1:20
The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of water are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

Hundreds of people had been displaced from their homes by the wildfires, and to find something so unexpected was astounding to him. When he showed it to his co-worker, they knew that they had to share it with the world.

We were like, ‘This is unreal; this is unbelievable. When we had both fully read it, we looked at each other – and I will never forget this moment – we both burst into tears. I was ghost-white, and we just prayed. There was nothing else to do.”

Dolly Parton has also pledged to donate $1,000 per month to help the families affected by the disaster.
