After “The Big Day,” brides around the world have a choice to make. They might hang the dress up in their closet, preserve it for their future offspring, donate it to charity, or partake in a particularly controversial ” Trash The Dress” photo session. While that usually means stomping around in the mud or playing paintball in the gown, Pierre Violle has a different version of this messy tradition…and people are paying up to $3,000 for the privilege!
He loves to take beautiful and imaginative photographs…but he also loves to go scuba diving. Eventually, he decided to combine his two favorite past times and create a unique career path that people are scrambling to take part in: underwater wedding photos.
He moved to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in 2006 and the rest is history.
He only has 2 assistants, but they work together flawlessly to create these magical, one-of-a-kind shots that will probably be passed down for generations to come. He loves to take the pictures in natural caves, and we can see why. The dust has settled completely, and the natural light combined with his professional lighting creates the perfect pictures.
Before the shoots, he plays the couple’s favorite music and they all share a round of tequila shots to calm their nerves. His method creates a relaxed atmosphere and stunning photos. The session takes anywhere from 5 to 6 hours and cost anywhere between $1,200 to $3,000.
The experience, the photographs, and the memories are all 100% worth it. That must be why so many people are in love with these pictures!
