A few members of this Chick-Fil-A got together and decided that they were going to open up the store and go to work on a Sunday – a day that is normally closed for religious reasons – to support their community. They love their city and they love the people that live there, so going out to do this amazing thing wasn’t really that big of a deal to them.
You see, this restaurant is in Orlando, Florida, and just hours before, a shooting opened up at a nearby nightclub. Over 50 people ended up in the hospital because of the attack, and the hospitals were in desperate need of donated blood.
People were standing in line for hours to donate blood, and the employees at this Chick-Fil-A decided that they wanted to support their community…even though the restaurant was normally closed. They got together, packed a bunch of meals to-go, and headed towards those long lines of people waiting to help others.
They weren’t alone – Pizza Hut had brought pizzas, and good Samaritans were handing out bottled water and snacks. The community came together in a way that no one wishes they would have needed to, but their support warmed the hearts of everyone who heard their amazing story.
