Acne is frustrating. The people who don’t have to deal with it think it’s easy to get rid of, and the people who do have it have tried nearly everything to make it go away. Beauty products and facial washes can cost a fortune, but that doesn’t stop people with acne from putting a huge dent in their wallets and trying them all. And most of the time, those products stop working after only a few weeks. Then it’s back to square one.
But surprisingly, there is one thing that you’ve got in your refrigerator that could go a long way to helping even out your skin and get rid of those pimples. Hey, it’s natural and easy, you might as well try it!
The answer? One blogger says: Tomatoes.
Tomatoes contains Vitamins A, C, E, K, B6, Salicylic Acid, and antioxidant properties that make them a natural option when you’re battling acne. They help to balance out the pH levels in your skin, which in turn makes future breakouts less likely.
Slice a tomato in half and rub it all over your skin. The juice might feel a bit gross, but the natural acne-fighting properties are probably better than half of the acne creams in your medicine cabinet. Massage the juice into your skin for a few minutes and then rinse it off.
Be sure to remove any makeup from your face before you try it out!
If you’ve got a little extra time, you can make a refreshing mask by removing the skin of the tomato and mashing the flesh into a pulp. Apply the pulp to your face and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes before removing it and rinsing your skin.
Many people who have tried this report that the acids in the tomato make their skin worse for a few days because the tomato brings out the impurities from their skin…but after a few days, their skin is healthier, brighter, and they can see the acne scars starting to fade!
