They Responded To A Call And Discovered Three Little Girls In An Abandoned House…

Chicago Police officers responded to a heartbreaking call to find three little girls left alone in an abandoned house. There was no one to take care of them, and they were in desperate conditions. They had the girls transported to the hospital to be evaluated, and after getting help from the Department of Child and Family Services, were able to track down the children’s grandmother.

She agreed to take the girls in and care for them, but admitted that she didn’t have what it would take to raise the girls on her own. She had recently lost her job and was at a loss as to what to do next. The officers decided to do something about it.

For the next week, they stopped by the house every day with food. They brought clothes, toys, and diapers, using their own money to make the purchases. They went through their own homes to give the grandmother furniture that they were no longer using, and collected money to purchase supermarket gift cards.

But after a week, they learned that two of the girls were about to share a birthday…and they couldn’t stay away! They planned a quick birthday party, giving presents, blowing out candles on a cake, and eating ice cream together! 11-16a17

Their generosity is inspiring, and people are touched by their actions, and the pictures have gone viral.
