These Two Guys Ordered McDonald’s From The Backseat Of A Cop Car! The Reason? Wow.

Officer John Hermanson and Officer Jeremy Caron picked up two locals who were freezing one night. The temperatures in the area were below zero, and these guys were struggling to stay warm. Then, they explain why this one quick trip to a McDonald’s was so important.

“Throughout the past year, we have been recipients of many gift cards. I do not have the exact number, but I know there have been hundreds.

These gift cards are not for us. The cards have been given to us so that we can give them to folks that could use a warm meal or a cup of coffee and a little something to go along with it.

Kind people from all over our state and country have trusted us to see a need and reach into our gear bag to meet that need.

I wouldn’t call a five dollar gift card to McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts a life changing event. But, I defy you tell me that we cannot make one day just a little bit better.”

The guys were tickled to be ordering at the drive-thru from the back of a cop car, laughing and joking at how surreal the experience was.

“They laughed even harder when John pulled up to the window and they were able to take the bag of food by reaching out from the rear seat of the cop car. We think the Mickey Dees employee also got a kick out of it.

So, it’s not just the meal. It is the connection. It is a moment in time when four guys from different worlds can have a laugh and then have a story to share.

A police cruiser becomes a conduit for kindness.

Four men, two gift cards, a laugh, and maybe a connection. Why don’t you put that on the news.

Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another.

We will be here.”

Does your local police station do this for the local homeless in your area? This one small act of kindness made a lot of difference for these guys who were just trying to stay warm.
