“Look good, feel good, do good” is the motto for this after school club. Every Wednesday, The Gentleman’s Club meets dressed in their best outfits to learn what it means to be a gentleman.
Raymond Nelson teaches the boys important lessons that they will use in life. Making eye contact, dressing nicely, and even properly shaking hands are on the agenda, and the boys are sure to never be late.
For the students who might not have the right clothing at home, a box of spare ties and jackets are available to keep them dressed for success!
The reasoning is simple: “When was the last time you saw someone fighting in a tuxedo?” When the boys are dressed nicely, they act differently. They walk into a classroom and try their best because they know that people believe in them.
The project has become such a hit that many other schools in the district want to adopt the idea! The program will help in a way that other after school activities might not. The entire concept behind the club is good behavior. As soon as they walk into the room, they know what is expected of them, and they try to exceed that expectation week after week.
The lessons they learn will follow them throughout life, and the confidence they gain will help them as they continue their education and pursue their dreams!
