The difference in swimwear styles between men and women is unfair, many women claim. Why should it be so uncomfortable? When a guy’s outfit can simply be “shorts and a shirt,” a woman’s ends up being held in place by uncomfortable strings and very little coverage. These two moms, Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley decided to point out their particular hardships in hilarious fashion in order to encourage other moms who wanted to enjoy the beach too.
First, they put on the outfits they’d seen at the beach worn by guys.
I would golf in this,” Kristin commented, while Jen agreed, “This is more than I wore to the prom!”
While dressed like this, they could do all of the things they needed to, like bend down to rifle through a cooler or reach into the car to grab sunblock for the kids without any “wardrobe malfunctions.”
I do not feel confident in a swimming suit at all…but I am not going to let that get in the way of me building a moat.” Kristin said.
I’m gonna look like I love cheese no matter what,” Jen says, “Because I love cheese.”
The whole point of the video wasn’t to try and change the social norms – it was to tell other moms that nobody feels perfect in a bathing suit. The most important part of going to the beach is having fun. Whether or not you decide to cover up completely or wear that stringy bikini, what matters in the memories you make.
You know what the best look is? Joy.” They say.
