Andrew Black, Rob Whitmore, and Chad Cover are garbage collectors who just happen to be best friends with these adorable triplets! They first met over a year ago when the guys would see the triplets’ mother, Martha Sugalski, taking the 2-month-old babies out for a walk in their stroller. After they crossed paths each Tuesday and Friday for a for weeks, they began waving at each other.
When the babies became responsive, the garbage men would honk their horn and wave “hi babies!” as they went about their duties. It soon became a ritual, and eventually the men would stop the truck in order to greet “the babies” with hugs and high-fives. The young children soon couldn’t wait for their twice-weekly visits with their favorite garbage collectors. What’s more? Martha’s daughter, Holden, is naturally shy and doesn’t quickly warm up to new people. But Rob has become her favorite garbage man, and she won’t hesitate to run down the driveway when it is a day that they know their friends will drive by in their big truck!
Andrew sustained an injury and was no longer able to work for a time, but he still came to visit on Tuesdays and Fridays! They love the triplets and genuinely enjoy interacting with the youngsters!
The children love to stand on the edge of their driveway, careful not to step into the road with the help of mom’s watchful eyes, holding gifts for their favorite garbage men: ice cold Gatorade! The guys make sure to honk the horn as they approach, and mom loves to take pictures of her excited children! It’s a special moment and it teaches the children to respect people for who they are, not for what jobs they might do for a living!
