The University of Mississippi got a lot more elegant when Lindy Goodson and Abby Bozeman decided to share a dorm room. They had met each other on social media a year ago, and kept in contact ever since. When they both decided to go to the same university, they began to plan the dorm room of their dreams, approving each purchase the other made to ensure that the room would fit their theme.
Most of the decorations were found at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Target, Home Depot, antique stores, and things we found at our own homes. The lamps were on clearance from Hobby Lobby, the stools were plain from Home Goods and I just added some blue velvet ribbons to jazz them up.” Lindy said.
The dresser was discovered at an antique store, but it was a dark wood and was missing a drawer. She repainted it, added crystal knobs, and Lindy made a curtain for the missing drawer to store their microwave inside.
Abby was in charge of their bedding and headboards as she knew a fabric store that would create the extra-long bed skirts and pillows to match.
The young women had planned ahead. They knew that living in a dorm room might get stressful, so they chose calm blues and neutral tones to keep their home-away-from-home feeling as welcoming and peaceful as possible.
These girls have changed the dorm room game, and students everywhere are excited to try out similar styles in their own dorm rooms!
