Storm Chaser Spots A Displaced Dog And Helps Him Find His Owners

While flooding continues to wreak havoc in Texas, one storm chaser is doing his part to try and help those in need. He was returning home after the flooding to check on his own dogs, but when he stopped to fill his SUV with gas, he realized that this collared dog was following him around. The dog’s owner was nowhere to be seen, and as soon as he opened the door to his backseat, the dog hopped in and made himself comfortable.

The man, known on Twitter as Jayjack, knew how he would feel if his own dogs went missing, so he decided to try and find the dog’s owner. He nicknamed the dog “Harvey” as a nod to the hurricane that left them all in this position. He reached out on Twitter, asking people to retweet and share the short video of Harvay and hoping to find the owner. Jayjack already has dogs of his own and couldn’t take on the extra pooch. He took Harvey to his vet to have him scanned for a chip, but they didn’t find anything.

Incredibly, Harvey’s owner was located and the two scheduled to meet up nearby. The dog, whose name turned out to be Cash, instantly perked up at hearing his name. When the two men met up in a parking lot, Cash was very excited and couldn’t stop wagging his tail.

The resilient dog had been through a tough ordeal, and without helpful strangers on the internet, might not have ever found home again. A beautiful end to a tragic story!
