When Kinsey French brought out her special guests on her wedding day, there was not a dry eye in the chapel. French is a special education teacher in Louisville, Kenucky, and she had a wonderful idea that included her six students with Down Syndrome.
They were like family to me. They were my first class and they’ve been my only class and so I knew I couldn’t have a special day without them,” French said.
The kids were excited to be included in the celebration and loved the food and dancing most of all!
The children spend a lot of time with their teacher. The students receive speech and occupational therapy, and have a close bond with their teacher who cares for them as if they were her own children.
Even her new husband was glad to include the children in the festivities. It was a moment that no one will be able to forget, and hopefully, the children will carry the memory of their special role in their teacher’s “Big Day” for the rest of their lives!
Not many people would think to include their students in their wedding planning, and it shows how very special this teacher is. She has found a way to influence these children in a positive way, and the bond that they have is truly spectacular.
