A Facebook post by Lisa Woelke has been shared over 100,000 times and is stumping people left and right! Instead of numbers, her puzzle uses fruits that represent certain amounts. To guess them, we solve a few simple equations to figure out their values…but then, it gets really tricky!
The easiest bit to solve is the one apple equals 10, because 30 divided by 3 is 10. That’s where it stops being easy and quickly turns into a puzzle nightmare! Give it a try for yourself…The most common answer that people came up with was 16. You shouldn’t be upset if that was your answer…but it’s wrong! The real answer is 14 because of slight differences in the images that many people completely overlook!
While one apple equals 10, one banana bunch equals four, and a pair of coconuts equals 2…in the final line, there is a single coconut, an apple, and there are only three bananas on that bunch! This makes the last equation 1 + 10 + 3 = 14!
Did you spot the tricky differences before reaching the conclusion? You can see why it has been stumping people left and right! Cool
