Keeping an office space neat and organized doesn’t have to be a challenge, and best of all, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Matching containers and storage space is a lot easier to make than you may think! One woman decided to take on a childhood craft and give it a face lift, transforming an ordinary cereal box into a stylish magazine holder.
Conveniently, large cereal boxes are just about the perfect size to hold notebooks, folders, magazines, clipboards, notes, and just about anything you might need. Instead of piling them on a desk or shelf, stand them upright and keep them in easy reach! If you’ve got clients (or nosy co-workers) just turn the box around to display the solid design on the back.
So, how do you turn an ugly old box into stylish storage? Contact paper.
It usually comes in a roll, but sometimes you might find it for sale by the yard at a fabric store! Contact paper comes in many designs, so finding one to fit into the look of your desk isn’t as hard as you think! It’s inexpensive, and only takes a few minutes to apply.
Measure out the amount you’ll need and attach it firmly to the cardboard surface, smoothing out pockets of air as you go along. The sticky contact paper won’t come loose, and the simple design is easy to create in case you enjoy changing your decorations often. She trimmed off the extra paper, but others think that folding the paper over the sides of the cardboard is easier. What do you think of this clever idea? You can find more details about this project here!
