She Wants More People To See The “Ugly Reality” Of Extreme Weight Loss

Being happy with her body was her only goal, but by the time she was ready to make a change, she couldn’t have predicted just how hard that particular battle would be. When she was 24 years old, she was kicked off of a roller coaster at a theme park for being too heavy. At 357 pounds, she decided that something needed to be done.

Over the next two years, she worked towards her new goal…but it was hard. She managed to drop 193 pounds and posted her journey to hopefully inspire others who had chosen to do the same. She was constantly receiving messages from strangers asking questions, giving advice, or encouraging her to keep going.

90% of people ask the same question,” she said. “What is the loose skin like?”

Instead of hiding it, she decided to post the “ugly” truth about loose skin to answer all of their questions at once.

I mainly have it around my abdomen but I also have it around my upper chest and arms. It causes back and skin problems. It changes the way I can exercise and alters my center of gravity. I have to dress around my body instead of dressing the way I would like, there are certain things I can and cannot wear.”

But she isn’t planning to remove it anytime soon. She is constantly working to reduce it by toning her muscles and building up her strength, reducing the loose skin naturally as much as possible before turning to surgery.

Loose skin changes what should be a 15 minute shower into a 30 minute because it needs its own care and drying or else it causes infections and other problems. No amount of exercising will remove this, it may reduce in a year or so with more toning and weight training but it will never be completely gone without surgical intervention.” She writes.

In the meantime, she is saving up every penny that she can. Hopefully, by the time it is time for the skin removal surgery, she will be 100% ready for the change!
