She Starts With A Styrofoam Ball And Adds Mini Cupcakes…The End Result Is STUNNING!

After you see this incredible masterpiece…and realize how EASY it is, you’ll never want to make cupcakes the “regular” way again! This is truly a work of art, and the best part is that anyone can do it! All you need is a styrofoam ball, a stand or vase, and cupcake supplies. Oh, and a bunch of toothpicks!

First, make sure that your styrofoam ball is secured in a vase or pot. She used a flower pot and made sure that the styrofoam wasn’t going to roll about. Then, she made a tray of mini cupcakes. The prep work was done! Now comes the fun part!4.27a12Sticking toothpicks into the styrofoam ball is the trickiest part, but as long as you stick them halfway in and at an upward angle, the cupcakes will stay securely in place. Add more than one toothpick to the cupcakes at the bottom. You don’t want any to slip off!
4.27a13Using thick icing is the key! You can make it yourself or use store bought icing. Put the icing in a piping bag (or a plastic bag with a hole in one corner) and use a CLOSED STAR TIP to create the roses. Practice making little roses on a separate sheet of waxed paper until you are satisfied with them. I find it easiest to start from the outside and swirl my way to the inside of the “rose” but this part is up to you!4.27a14Alternate the colors to match your other decorations or just make a random bouquet “just because!” How cute would this be to bring out for dessert after a dinner party? You guess it: so cute.4.27a15

Try this project out the next time you get the urge to bake cupcakes! You have to frost them and place them on a serving plate anyway, so why not take a little extra time and turn them into a magical experience? I love it!
