Learning new things takes a lot of skill and patience, and if you aren’t careful you could get seriously injured. My best friend broke his ankle the first time that he tried to learn how to ride a skateboard. He didn’t have any training and decided that “it couldn’t be that hard.” There is a reason that trainers have such successful businesses. It takes a lot of practice to become skilled at a trade or a sport, and if you try to learn it all on your own there is a chance that you won’t come out of it unscathed.
A woman decides to learn and try horse back riding unassisted without prior experience or lessons. She mounts the horse with great effort, and the tall, shiny horse springs into motion.
It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but she soon finds herself slipping from the saddle. Out of shear terror, she grabs for the horse’s mane but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse’s neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.
Finally, giving up her frail grip, she leaps away from the horse to try and throw herself to safety.
Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup. She is now at the mercy of the horse’s pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground again and again. As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness or even death when Frank, the Wal-Mart manager runs out to unplug the mechanical horse ride.
Did that twist get you, too? I busted out laughing! I was sincerely scared for this poor woman who was apparently about to DIE while trying to ride a wild stallion! This one got me. It really did. Jokes with a twist are my absolute favorite. Too funny!
