She Found An EASY Way To Remove Mildew From Old Towels!

You know that feeling you get when you discover a moist towel that someone left in the back of a closet for a few days? Ugh. Same.

A regular wash cycle usually doesn’t do the trick, and many of us give up and toss the towel into the garage as a work towel or even just throw it away.

But one clever mom nailed down the easiest way to not only remove the stench of mildew from the cloth, but actually make the towel smell even better than before!
The first step is to turn your washing machine to the hottest temperature. The second step is to add a single cup of distilled white vinegar to the wash. You don’t add detergent – only the vinegar! Put your mildew-smelling towels and clothes in the cycle and let it run.The last step is to toss them into the dryer with a dryer sheet or dryer ball. When the towel or clothes come out, they shouldn’t smell like mildew at all!

If they do, it may be time to take extreme measures. On the highest temperature, add 1 cup of baking soda instead of vinegar or detergent. After all of these steps, the mildew smell will be gone without any extra scrubbing!

Some people have tried this and say that while the mildew smell comes right out, the vinegar smell will take an additional washing cycle to smell normal again. Another woman reported that she tried this tip with water at the regular temperature and found that it worked decently.

We’re just glad that there is finally a way to get towels fresh and clean after smelling like mildew! You can see more details on this process here!
