Random acts of kindness are popping up all over social media! Whether it is giving a homeless person a free meal, helping someone out of a tough situation, or just buying coffee for the person behind them in the drive-thru, people are finding more and more ways to boost the morale in their communities.
But aside from helping the homeless and purchasing food for a stranger, what else is there to do? One family has decided on a very unique way to brighten everyone’s day…by hiding chalk around the neighborhood!
We left packs pavement chalk in three different places in the park this morning. But… we got caught in action by a lady walking past, who (nicely) asked what we were doing. We explained that we were doing a random act of kindness for the holiday, and she said it was a great idea. We saw a family walking down the path towards the park and my husband wondered if they would find one of the packs of chalks!”
This is a fun idea! The kids get to play with chalk (who didn’t love sidewalk chalk as a kid?!) and the parents get a break from being asked to push the swings for 20 minutes! Win-win.
This is also an inexpensive way to give back. Most discount stores sell packs of sidewalk chalk for under a dollar. Put some in the car and have the kids “hide” them for other children to find! How fun!
