In Chattanooga, Tennessee, Ankar’s Hogies stands proud, serving some of the best food in the area. While the food is great, many people stop by just for the atmosphere. It was a family-run restaurant, but when their father died, he passed the ownership down to his son, Andrew.
Andrew was born with Down Syndrome, but that hasn’t stopped him from doing what he loves to do. Ever since he graduated high school in 2013, he has worked at the restaurant. He starts his days at 8am and doesn’t get home until 9:30pm. He devotes his life and energy into his father’s legacy, and he takes his job very seriously.
Not a soul walks through the restaurant doors that isn’t greeted warmly by Andrew. Even the health inspector who came to their restaurant after an anonymous complaint was filed against the establishment.
The complaint specifically mentioned an “unauthorized person” in the food prep area. They of course were talking about Andrew. Little did they know that Andrew was actually the owner. The health inspector looked around but could not find a single violation in response to the complaint, and left them with a clean inspection report.
But the story doesn’t end there. Andrew’s brother was so hurt by the ordeal that he wrote a post about it on Facebook. Yes, you guessed it, the post went viral seemingly overnight!
His words really hit home for a lot of people, and everyone is really hoping that the anonymous complainer sees how very disgusting their actions were!
