Clayton and Brittany Cook had just tied the knot when their photo shoot was cut short by the groom’s incredible act of heroism.
While they were taking photographs, a group of children were following them around. The kids were playing near the lake, which was bordered by several feet of stonework. They were keeping an eye on the children, worried that the kids might fall in, and when Brittany began taking her individual photos, it happened. The smallest child fell in and couldn’t get back out. The water was deeper than the children thought it would be, and the stone wall was too high for the child to climb back out.
Clayton didn’t care about his clothes and jumped in to pull the child out of the water.
The boy was shaken and quickly left with the other children. Brittany was stunned and didn’t want to imagine what might have happened if they hadn’t been in the right place at the right time.
Her husband had acted on his instincts, and his ability to make quick decisions in times of stress, she said, was one of the reasons that she fell in love with him in the first place. Hatt Photography caught it all, and the pictures were stunning. This groom is a hero.
