Have You Heard About Poke Cakes?! They’re EASY And DELICIOUS! (And Totally Out Of A Box!)

I may be the only person on Earth who had no idea what a “poke cake” was when this crazy recipe went viral. Seriously, where has this been all my life?! Sifting through hundreds of comments that were remembering “grandma’s famous poke cake” had me incredibly jealous…but the good news is that this recipe is EASY! You don’t have to try and make anything from scratch – everything comes in a box!

First, bake a cake. Yes, you can use regular white cake mix from a box! Follow the instructions and let the finished cake cool for about 30 minutes before moving on to the next step.

While your cake is baking, mix up some jello but don’t put it in the fridge yet. Once the cake is cool, you can move to the next step.

Now, poke holes all along the surface of your cake! Then, pour the jello mixture into the holes for maximum absorption.   Cover the pan and put the cake into the fridge for a few hours to chill. When the cake is cold and the jello is happy (I’m assuming that jello is happiest when chilled, of course) you can take it out and spread whipped cream on top of the cake! If you want to get fancy, slice up some strawberries and put them on top! Just look at this masterpiece! There is a warning attached to this recipe, though…be careful!
