This breakfast is so simple, you might add it to your “everyday breakfast” list. Eggs are quick, oatmeal is quicker, but are they as delicious as syrup and fruit-covered Texas Toast Strips? No, they are not. These delicious sticks might take a few extra minutes to prepare, but once you taste them, it’ll be worth the trouble! First, check your pantry. You’ve probably got all of the ingredients already on hand!
Slice up some white bread! Texas style is best, but any bread will do!
Prepare the ingredients!
For 8 sliced pieces of bread:
4 large eggs
1 cup of heavy cream
2 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 Tablespoon of sugar
1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract
Powdered sugar (you know, because you’re an adult, and it’s delicious.)
Follow the directions here and get ready to make the most delicious french toast sticks you’ve ever had!
Whisk the eggs and cream together with the dry ingredients until it’s all mixed together. Dip each piece of bread into the mixture and be sure to coat all four sides! Place the coated bread on a separate plate until you’re ready to start the next step.
Heat a pan (sautee or non-stick) with 2 to 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter until it’s completely melted. Toss your bread sticks into the pan and let them fry until they are nice and crispy on all of the edges! Don’t let them touch or they’ll get stuck together!
This amazing breakfast (or let’s be honest, dinner) is so easy to do! It’s delicious and quick…although maybe not the healthiest…that’s what the fresh fruit is for!
