Dreaming is something almost everyone does, but even then, no one is sure why it happens. Why, how, and when we dream is still not 100% understood, and while science can point us in the right direction, we can’t be sure about any of it. When humans dream, the visions in our heads are vivid…even if they aren’t logical or realistic. Walking a tightrope above the planet Earth, speaking to people you’ve never met in a different language, even running in slow motion while the world moves quickly around us, dreams often don’t make any sense…but there’s one thing we all have in common; we dream about what we know.
Going to a meeting without pants, running late to work, losing important items, all of these dreams focus on actions that we go through every day. Top researchers at Harvard University have no reason to believe that dogs would dream any differently than we would.
Since dogs are generally extremely attached to their human owners, it’s likely your dog is dreaming of your face, your smell and of pleasing or annoying you.”
So, when your best canine pall starts wiggling those paws and ‘woof’ing in his sleep, there is a good chance that he is dreaming about you. Playing in the living room, searching for you in a large and overgrown park, or chewing up your favorite pair of sneakers is probably what his little doggie dreams are about!
As if we needed another reason to totally adore our dogs!
