Cameron Nelson stopped at his local Chick-Fil-A, but couldn’t have predicted what he was about to witness.
Usually, Nelson just uses the drive-thru, but the line was just too long that day and he decided to go inside to save time. That’s when he noticed that the worker at the check out counter was wearing a sling and a neck brace.
We sneeze too hard & decide to call in, but he’s workin like nothing’s wrong.” Nelson wrote on Facebook.
Nelson asked about the injuries, and the young man told him that he had been involved in a car accident. He was hurting, but he had to keep working because he had some important goals this holiday season. He wanted to be able to help feed the homeless for Christmas, but he could do it without earning the extra cash first.
…maybe I was supposed to go in there. I think I may kick down a hundred or two on payday to help him out…he’s definitely doin it for a great cause & I was amazed he’s still workin despite his condition.”
The picture was shared thousands of times, so Nelson decided to help the boy, who turned out to be 18-year-old Jakeem Tyler, do just that. They set a goal of $2,500 to be able to help their community…
$28,000 in donations later, people still want to help! Tyler’s determination to help others was inspiring, and people respect his drive to keep working, even when things get tough.
