Before The Internet Was Popular, A Pot-Bellied Pig Saved A Woman’s Life By Literally Playing Dead!

Lulu’s story takes place in 1998 when e-mail wasn’t something everybody had. Her story would probably have gone viral, but she deserves a lot of praise for her incredible actions! She saved a life.

Jo Ann And Jack lived in Pennsylvania and had agreed to keep an eye on their daughter’s pot-bellied pig, Lulu, for a short time. They found themselves falling in love with the pig and decided to keep her permanently. Lulu loved Jo Ann, and Jo Ann thought the world of the silly little pig. The couple had a dog as well, but it wasn’t the same.

On August 4, 1998, her husband went out of town on a fishing trip. She had a heart attack.

She fell to the floor and tried to call for help, but no one was around to hear. She threw an alarm clock out of the front window, thinking the odd picture might draw attention, but none came.

Their dog barked and barked for help, but it didn’t seem like anything different.

That is when Lulu jumped into action and forced her way through the slats in the yard. She tore her skin and was bleeding, but she didn’t stop until she got to the road and played dead.

She lay on the ground, bleeding, until a driver stopped to check on her. As soon as he was near, she guided him back to her home where he saw Jo Ann on the ground. He dialed 911 on the house phone and Jo Ann was rushed to the hospital.

She survived open-heart surgery and was told that if even 15 more minutes had passed, she would have died on route to the hospital. Pigs are the smartest domestic animals, and Lulu’s story is a great one! She made appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, The Late Show, and even David Letterman.
