Artist Posts “Good News” Bulletins To Make Everyone A Little Happier

Most times, the posters stuck to street poles are advertising computer repair or looking for a missing pet. Artist Jaco Haasbroek, a man from South Africa, decided that he’d like to put up some posters of his own…only these were designed to make pedestrians smile while they went about their days! He wanted to combat negativity and decided to pull out all of the good puns!

It’s quite sad when someone loses a pet,” Haasbroek wrote. “The idea popped into my head that by simply adding ‘Our Hearts’ at the bottom of the poster, it would completely change its meaning and turn into something positive.”

And he never stopped. The one poster led to “The Good News,” a project full of puns, happiness, and all around good fun.
With hilarious puns such as, “surgeon donates organ to church,” and “traveler loses emotional baggage,” it isn’t much of a surprise that so many people are now following his Instagram feed. When people smile, they are more likely to feel a little happier. If everyone on the street can start to feel that way, the project will have been worth it. Life is too short to spend it without a few puns – and he’s out to make as many smiles as possible!A few good puns really did go a long way – and it all started with a single sign that advertised an adorable dog.
