Marc Hadden responded to a call and realized that the mother in labor wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time to delivery her baby. Hadden, a firefighter from South Carolina, acted as a midwife and helped to deliver the healthy baby girl! When the mother was finally taken to the hospital, she put the newborn up for adoption.
Hadden didn’t have to think long before bringing the subject up with his wife. He and his wife, Beth, already have two boys, but due to Beth’s medical history, they weren’t sure that they would ever have anymore children.
It was just a somewhat normal call. Very quickly we realized that it was going to be a life changer for us.” He said.
They decided to name her Grace and signed the adoption papers immediately. 48 hours later, they were able to bring the healthy baby girl back home!Beth viewed the entire chain of events as something that was supposed to happen in their lives.
Ever since we had the boys, we knew that we wanted more children, but I was pre-term with them so we knew that it wasn’t possible to have any more babies. “And we had it in our minds and in our hearts for years to adopt and we just left it in God’s hands. We said if it’s meant to be, it will be.”
Little Grace was rescued in the middle of the night, and changed the life of that firefighter forever.
