6-Year-Old Wants To Be A Royal Guard And Writes A Letter Directly To The Queen…She Answered!

George Mearing didn’t care about the fact that he was only 5 years old at the time – he had a dream, and nothing was going to get in his way! Ever since he learned what the Royal Guard of England did, he wanted to be just like them. Their large hats and serious expressions inspired him to dress and act in the same way, and when he grows up, he wants to join them!

So, he decided to write to Her Majesty The Queen and let her know just how much he was looking forward to it.

To Your Majesty The Queen.
My name is George and I am 5. I have been learning about you and your family and your soldiers.
Me + mummy have been to Windsor Castle lots. I like dressing up as a soldiers.
It would make me very happy to have a letter from you.
Love from George.

George included pictures of himself dressed as a soldier so that she could see how very serious he was about his dreams.

There was a considerable wait, and the family wasn’t sure if the Queen would be able to respond…but after George turned 6, he received a reply! He received a letter directly from Buckingham Palace! The Queen apologized for the delay, but sent information on the Royal Guard for George to learn more about them!

He is one step closer to his dream!
