5th Grade Teacher Receives An End-Of-Year Thank You Note From A Student And Couldn’t Stop The Tears

Most kids are excited for the end of the school year. Once school lets out, it usually means weeks and weeks of playing outside, spending time at the pool, playing video games, hanging out with friends, or going off to camp…but one 5th grade student named Markus wasn’t excited for the school year to end because it meant saying goodbye to his favorite teacher.

Known to his students as “Mr. J.,” the letter was spotted on his desk and he lost it. If you aren’t able to read it, scroll down for the transcribed version below.See below:Mr. J. posted the letter on Twitter, who were instantly touched. He admitted that at first, he “tried so hard not to cry,” but it was impossible. The child had been so impacted by the caring acts of his teacher that it led him to write out his feelings in dramatic honesty.

“I never met my real dad but it okay because you treat me like i’m your son,” Markus wrote…and that is what hit his teacher the most.

Making a real impact in a child’s life, and realizing that they have left your classroom a stronger, better person? That’s priceless.

Teachers have been sharing this letter as it made them wonder about their own students who left similar notes throughout the years. Students have been sharing it, too, remembering the teachers that left an impact on them. And that is inspiring.
