Most of us suffer from insecurities, doubt, and a fear of change. To some, leaving the house to go to the post office can cause a large amount of stress. Dwelling on the past can keep a lot of us up at night. Worrying about what others might think might make us physically ill. But a select few don’t seem to have these inhibitions that their judgement…they just live each day with confidence, and there are 5 key things that we can all learn from them.

They don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves.

This is especially useful in the workplace, but they apply this mentality with their friends, family, and acquaintances. By not feeling sorry for themselves when bad things happen, they take back their power. They are in control of their emotions and work to change their situation instead of someone else’s mind.

They don’t hesitate when it comes to change.

They won’t waste energy on something that they can’t control, whether it is waiting for a promotion or sitting in traffic. They realize that sometimes, the only thing they can control is their attitude.

They don’t worry about pleasing everyone.

They are not afraid to say no or disappoint someone. They try to be kind and fair, but won’t apologize if someone doesn’t like it.

They don’t dwell on the past.

Wishing things had been different is a waste of time, and they know it. They learn from their past and move on. They live for the present and plan for the future based on their past.

They don’t make the same mistake twice.

They accept responsibility for their actions and move on. They don’t blame others or gossip excessively when something bad happens. Instead, they try to make better decisions in the future.
