101-Year-Old Was REALLY Excited For The Last Solar Eclipse Of Her Lifetime

With the next total solar eclipse being predicted for April 8, 2024, the eclipse on August 21, 2017 was the last chance for some in North America to witness in their lifetime.

One such woman, a 101-year-old from Donalson, Tennessee, was very excited for the solar event. She’d been preparing for days and even had a custom t-shirt to commemorate the occasion! Armed with her solar eclipse glasses and tray full of space-pun-related snacks, she got ready for the last eclipse she would ever see.

In her basket? A Capri Sun juice pouch, Sunchips, Eclipse gum, Moon Pies, and Luna bars – all the best sun puns!

The afternoon event was nearly ruined a giant cloud that covered the phenomenon, but seconds away from totality, the cloud drifted away and allowed onlookers to enjoy the sight!

In other areas of Tennessee, that cloud became “the most expensive view of a cloud” that they had ever witnessed, as many people had taken road trips just to experience the event and some onlookers finding themselves right under it, blocking the view entirely.

Luckily, this woman was able to enjoy the eclipse with her neighbors in what is probably the most adorable eclipse story you’ll read all day!
