10-Year-Old Boy Selling Artwork To Raise Money To Help His Brother

Haden, a 10-year-old boy from North Carolina, has been sitting outside of his home with a sign for the last three months hoping to make a difference in someone else’s life. He set up a table, made his sign, and even passed out flyers so that everyone in the neighborhood would know what he was trying to do. You see, Haden’s little brother, Max, began suffering from a rare nerve and tumor disorder called neurofibromatosis that makes every day very uncomfortable.
This means that the 7-year-old boy is no longer outgoing and energetic but frequently doesn’t even want to get out of bed each day. He suffers from tumors, migraines, neuropathy, seizures, muscle weakness, and the list just continues on and on.When Haden noticed how serious his brother’s condition was getting, he moved his mattress into his little brother’s room to help him in any way that he can. Haden began selling his artwork and uses the money he raises to buy fun things for the brothers to do together. He recently purchased some LEGO bricks that they could play with. Max wears a medical mask, so he isn’t able to leave the house very often.
Haden has autism, and drawing these pictures helps him to cope in his own life. He knows that drawing pictures helps him towards his goal of making his brother smile as often as possible.

I just want him to be happy. If he’s happy, I’m happy,” Haden said.

So far, Haden has sold just over $100 worth of his artwork!
