At the Bass Pro Shops in Colorado, a dumb teenager decided that it would be a great idea to sneak into the fish tank and jump right in. While it seemed random to everyone who heard about it, it turns out that this specific “prank” has been plaguing the Outdoor World for nearly a decade. The outdoor gear store is more of an “experience” than they are a shop, and many of their stores boast large fish tanks, carnival-like games for kids, and provide education for the kids that might just be walking through the mall.
The fish tanks aren’t meant for would-be divers, but try telling that to these kids.
The child in this particular incident jumped in without any real plan and ended up injuring himself, knocking his skull against the rocks inside of the aquarium. He wasn’t taken to the hospital, but he may end up facing charges if authorities find damage to the tank or the fish as a result of his reckless behavior.The store issued a statement:
A teenage minor attempted to enter our aquarium as part of an intended prank. Our associates and security team quickly addressed the issue safely and without incident.”
People who witnessed the jump called it “stupid.”
You should have the level of mental development to understand, hey, this is not a good idea.” One said.
