To many, “mom” is comfort and reassurance and a shoulder to cry on. A warm hug and good advice and our favorite meal when we’re sick went a long way as we grew up, but somehow, she seems to stay with many of us long after she’s gone.
Nikki P. was missing her mother, and her heartfelt post has gone viral – just in time for Mother’s Day – for mom’s incredible words of comfort: “I’m here!”
She lost her mother to brain cancer, and six years later, she was missing the woman dearly.
I didn’t find this letter until a few years after I lost her while going through some things I found. I remembered the letter the minute I saw it but the words honestly didn’t mean nearly as much when she gave me the card all those years ago as they do now that she’s gone.” Nikki wrote.
‘Mom is always right where ever you need me; I’m here!’
There you are, right there in the words and in between the lines. Right there with the words I need to hear and read the most. I have to find you and look for your guidance in other ways now but you are still there. Thank you for always writing it out for me, thank you for knowing that one day when you would leave me your words and writings would carry on to help me.
I see you, Mom, right there in between the lines.”
The loss of a loved one leaves a hole that never fully heals. It might get better over time, but it never truly leaves us. Those sweet words from mom were inspiring, and she shared the sentiment with the world. “Mom” never really leaves, and her letter is inspiring thousands.
