If you’ve never been through the process of adopting a pet, let me break it down for you. First, you need to decide that you have the space and time to welcome a pet into your home. It’s a big decision and a lot of commitment, but in the end, worth it! So you have to buy toys and a bed for your new pet, and a collar and a leash. When you go to the adoption center, you may have to go through an interview process. The staff might want to see pictures of your home or even walk through it just to make sure that the animal will have a healthy life there. When you walk into the room full of caged pets, you’ll want to cover your nose. The smell can be overpowering, but don’t worry, your new friend won’t smell like this once you’ve got him home and bathed him! You’ll look and look and look. You’ll pet many animals that day…until you see the one. Like this dog, you’ll feel it instantly!
Dogs really are amazing. I feel as though all dogs think this way once they are getting adopted! With my dogs, we took a huge leap of faith – we weren’t ready for a pet, but we adopted them anyway – and it was the best decision we’ve ever made! Forgive me while I cut this short to go cuddle with my adorable dogs!
